Ugh, fellow gardeners! Feeling totally defeated by the grasshoppers this year. They've descended on my garden like a green, munching army, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
I've covered everything I could, but these little buggers are like ninjas, somehow chewing through the covers and even my supposedly-grasshopper-repellent marigolds! The only things that seem safe are the onions... for now (RIP future onion rings).
I've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at them: molasses traps, diatomaceous earth, flour dustings, you name it! Even whipped up a homemade garlic spray that, honestly, just made my garden smell like a vampire convention. ♀️
Neem oil? Nope. Not even a dent. My chickens are definitely doing their part, but I think they're getting tired of the grasshopper buffet!
**So, anyone else out there in the same boat? What crazy (but effective!) grasshopper-fighting strategies have you employed? Help a discouraged gardener out! **
(P.S. Eco-bran sounds amazing, but it's a bit out of my budget right now. Any frugal alternatives you can recommend?)
Let's commiserate, share battle plans, and hopefully come out of this grasshopper war with some surviving veggies (and maybe a newfound appreciation for bird seed)!
